The 2nd Annual NC Adidas Girls Jr. Phenom Camp was held December 2-3, 20065 in Huntersville, NC at North Mecklenburg High School and Elite 75 staff was at attendance. Again 40 of the top middle school girls from North Carolina were in attendance for the evaluation camp and qualifier for the National Adidas Jr. Phenom Camp. Competition level was high again this year, but there were a couple of standouts in every age division.

In the 6th grade division 2013

Amber Doniere 5’9 PF Charlotte, NC
Post Player, Good foot work, poise player, excellent finisher around the basket

Holly Chandler 4’10 SG NC
Excellent shooter, nice set shot, good touch, good defense, see the court well, nice upside

In the 7th grade division 2012

Isabel Bernal 5’4 PG/SG Charlotte, NC
Shoots ball with consistency, breakdown defense, gets to the rack, finisher, penetrates

Shelby Winchester 5’7 WF Charlotte, NC
Great knowledge of the game, nice mid-range shot, aggressive, nice rebounder, sees the floor

Garland Austin 5’5 SG Charlotte, NC
Shoot 3 lights out, excellent from the arch, perimeter threat, good dribbler, good passer

Tiffany Mitchell 5’6 PG Charlotte, NC
Barb Nelson maybe losing her best guard in Epiphinay Woodson at Providence Day, but she grooming a younger version in Mitchell so they want skip a beat. One of the top guards in the camp Mitchell has excellent court vision and passes on the drop of a dime. Can break defenders down and gets to the rack. And to add to her arsenal she is a deadly threat from the arc.

In the 8th grade division 2011

Amara Mayers 5’7 WF Huntsville, AL
Good ball handler, attacks the rack, already possesses high school size, good upside, we see great things coming from the southeastern player as she attends Spartman High School next year.

Najmah Hilliard 5’2 PG Charlotte, NC
Very competitive, aggressive, makes good decisions, exciting to watch as see makes good plays over and over again

Tiera Burkes 5’9 PF Charlotte, NC
Very strong for size, good post moves, good footwork, will be a dominant force in the paint, good finisher, will be interesting to see the upside when she matures

Kiera Mcivor 5’9 WF Greensboro, NC (Co-Top Camper)
Hands down one of the top players of the weekend, shoots the ball well, long very athletic, attacks
the basket, shows excellent defense, and able to bang in the post, has a inside outside type game

Cierra Burkick 6’1 Point Forward Charlotte,NC (Co-Top Camper)
Has Candance Parker like tendencies, Our Elite 75 reporter sat there dazzled by this player as she excited crowd. Has the ability to play all positions on the floor, great court vision, able to post defenders and drop step. Adding a consistent jump shot and as strength develops will complete game. Troy Gaston at South Mecklenburg High School could be looking at another state championship in years to come.

Kiera Mcivor and Cierra Burkick were so dominate in the camp, the Elite 75 Prep staff had a hard time determining the top camp player, so we extended Co-Top Camper” honors to both players. Scouts said these two players were clear standouts

In the 9th grade division 2011

Lauren Lewis 5’3 PG Concord, NC
A High School coach’s daughter and it shows, excellent knowledge of the game, very intelligent, makes great passes, and can shoot the ball very consistent from the 3, plays varsity as a freshmen at North Mecklenburg High School

Overall this was a good camp and had some talented young stars with bright futures. We would like to thank Rick Lewis and the NC Phenom staff for letting Elite 75 Prep be involved in the event.
